Filling and Crust
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Crimp the edges and set aside.
- 2
Mix the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, sea salt, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- 3
Add Eggs
Add the eggs one at a time to the mixture, whisking well after each addition until the filling is smooth.
- 4
Add Pecans
Fold in the organic pecans until they are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- 5
Assemble the Pie
Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- 6
Bake
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly browned. If the edges of the crust begin to brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.
