Machaca Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the flank steak and season with salt and black pepper. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and then chop into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Combine with Salsa

Stir the chopped beef into the salsa in the skillet and heat through for about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Pour them into a non-stick skillet and scramble until fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Prepare Hash Browns

In another skillet, cook the hash browns according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Machaca

On a large plate, lay down a flour tortilla. Spoon the beef and salsa mixture, followed by scrambled eggs, hash browns, refried beans, and spicy cheese sauce. Top with pico de gallo.

  6. 6

    Serve

Roll up the tortilla to enclose the filling, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.
