Gyoza Filling and Dough

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Gyozas

Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a half-moon shape, and press the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

  3. 3

    Fry the Gyozas

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the gyozas in a single layer and fry until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Steam the Gyozas

Carefully add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately with a lid. Allow the gyozas to steam for about 5 minutes, or until the water has evaporated.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms. Serve the gyozas hot, topped with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro.
