Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x18 inch baking sheet. In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and stir in the sugar until combined. Add the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Add Hot Water
Carefully stir in the hot water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the Cake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely in the baking sheet.
Serve the Cake
Cut the cake into squares and serve warm, topped with scoops of hazelnut ice cream and a sprinkle of hazelnut feuilletine.
