Prepare the Burger Patties

Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Add Cheese
After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired level of doneness.

Slice the Tomato
While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato into even rounds.

Wash the Lettuce
Rinse the lettuce leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Assemble the Cheeseburgers

Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheeseburger patty, a slice of tomato, and pickles if desired.

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
