Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned, then flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired level of doneness.

Prepare the Buns and Toppings

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of the hamburger buns. Toast them on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Slice the Tomato

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato into even rounds.

  3. 8

    Wash the Lettuce

Rinse the lettuce leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Assemble the Cheeseburgers

  1. 9

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cheeseburger patty, a slice of tomato, and pickles if desired.

  2. 10

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
