Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until the spices are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness, adding a slice of cheese on top during the last minute of cooking if desired.

Prepare the Fries

  1. 4

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the fries and drain them on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
