Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients. Rinse the figs and slice them into quarters. Mince the garlic.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork Chops

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper. Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Port Wine Reduction

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the port wine and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, or until it has reduced by half. Stir in the butter until melted and smooth.

  4. 4

    Cook the Broccolini

In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the broccolini and cook for about 3-4 minutes until tender but still bright green. Drain and set aside.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Return the pork chops to the skillet with the port wine reduction, allowing them to warm through for a minute. Serve the pork chops topped with the fig quarters, alongside the broccolini.
