Ice Cream Base

Method

Ice Cream Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 2

    Chill Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until it is thoroughly chilled.

  3. 3

    Churn Ice Cream

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  4. 4

    Freeze Ice Cream

Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer, stirring occasionally.

  2. 6

    Melt Chocolate

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips, stirring until completely melted and smooth.

  3. 7

    Add Flavor

Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined.

  4. 8

    Cool Sauce

Let the chocolate sauce cool slightly before serving. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
