Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the well of the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough starts to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Bread

After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and allow it to rise again for about 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake the Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and salt, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.

  2. 10

    Apply Garlic Butter

Once the bread is baked and has cooled slightly, slice the bread and spread the garlic butter generously on each slice.

  3. 11

    Final Bake

If desired, place the buttered bread under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispy top.
