Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger buns.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil to the grill or skillet to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Make the Special Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined. Adjust the salt to taste.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato (sliced), and a generous dollop of the special sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
