Crawfish Etouffee Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a large pot, melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Seasonings

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Add the cajun seasoning and mix well.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Crawfish and Liquids

Add the crawfish tail meat to the pot and stir to combine. Pour in the chicken broth and add the tomato paste, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Etouffee

Reduce the heat to low and let the etouffee simmer uncovered for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the bay leaves before serving.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the crawfish etouffee over cooked rice, garnished with sliced green onions.
