Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash and dry the Bibb, romaine, and spring mix lettuce thoroughly. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Roast the Onion
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the onion into wedges and toss with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for about 20 minutes or until caramelized and tender. Let cool slightly before adding to the salad.
- 3
Prepare the Tomato
Chop the heirloom tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and add them to the salad bowl.
- 4
Add Cheese and Croutons
Grate the aged cheddar cheese and sprinkle it over the salad. Add the croutons on top.
- 5
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the buttermilk ranch dressing over the salad, tossing gently to combine all ingredients. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve the house salad immediately as a fresh side or light meal.
