Prepare the Cake Batter
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth (the batter will be thin).

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the Chocolate Filling
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream and chopped chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Remove from heat and whisk in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Allow to cool before using.

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add cocoa powder and powdered sugar, alternating with heavy cream, mixing until smooth.

Layer the Cakes
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of chocolate filling on top.

Repeat with the second layer and another layer of chocolate filling. Top with the third cake layer.
