Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 to 60 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Season both sides of the ribeye steak generously with salt and black pepper. Make sure to rub the seasoning into the meat for better flavor.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the ribeye steak in the pan. Sear it for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to achieve a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

After the first side is seared, flip the steak. Add the crushed garlic cloves and the sprig of fresh rosemary to the pan. This will infuse the steak with lovely flavors.

  6. 6

    Finish Cooking

Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130-135°F for medium-rare).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve immediately, optionally with your favorite sides.
