Method

Meatloaf Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for cooking the meatloaf.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in a drizzle of olive oil until the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork. Add the sautéed onion and garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, and smoked paprika. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  4. 4

    Shape Meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a free-form loaf on a lined baking sheet. Ensure it's evenly shaped.

  5. 5

    Bake Meatloaf

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  6. 6

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing into 10 equal pieces (5 ounces each).
