Bread Pudding

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the French bread into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the custard mixture over the bread pieces. Gently fold in the mixed berries and toasted pecans. Allow it to sit for about 15 minutes to let the bread soak up the custard.

  4. 4

    Bake

Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

  5. 5

    Serve

Let the bread pudding cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with hard whiskey sauce if desired.
