Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the oysters under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Scrub the shells with a brush to ensure they are clean.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Steamer

Fill a steamer pot with water and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Make sure the water does not touch the steamer basket.

Cajun Flavoring

  1. 3

    Mix the Cajun Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir to mix well.

  2. 4

    Season the Oysters

Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning mixture generously over the oysters before placing them in the steamer.

Breaux's All In Flavoring

  1. 5

    Combine Breaux's Seasoning

In another bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning mix with lemon zest and chopped parsley.

  2. 6

    Add to Oysters

Once the oysters are in the steamer, sprinkle the Breaux's seasoning over them evenly.

Lemon Flavoring

  1. 7

    Add Lemon Juice

Drizzle fresh lemon juice over the oysters before steaming for a zesty flavor.

  2. 8

    Serve with Lemon Wedges

Once cooked, serve the oysters hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra citrus kick.

Cooking

  1. 9

    Steam the Oysters

Place the oysters in the steamer basket and cover. Steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shells open and the oysters are cooked through.
