Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Graham Cracker Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is well combined and resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Make sure to pack it tightly to hold its shape. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Combine Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, egg yolks, and lime zest until smooth and well combined.

  2. 4

    Fill the Crust

Pour the filling mixture into the cooled graham cracker crust. Spread it evenly with a spatula.

  3. 5

    Bake the Pie

Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.

Topping Preparation

  1. 6

    Whip the Cream

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until it begins to thicken. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.

  2. 7

    Top the Pie

Spread the whipped cream over the cooled pie filling. Garnish with lime slices if desired.

  3. 8

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours before serving to allow it to set completely. Slice and enjoy your delicious key lime pie!
