Fried Shrimp (imported) Recipe
Battered and fried to a golden brown our large shrimp are always a favorite. Served with Breaux or Voodoo sauce.

Prepare the Shrimp
Ensure the large shrimp are peeled and deveined. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

Add Water
Gradually add the cold water to the dry ingredients, whisking until the batter is smooth and free of lumps. The batter should be thick enough to coat the shrimp.
Frying

Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Shrimp
Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated, and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.

Cooking Time
Fry the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown and float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve the Fried Shrimp
Serve the fried shrimp hot with Breaux sauce and Voodoo sauce on the side for dipping.
