Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Sauté Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and have released their moisture.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 4

    Grill or Pan-Fry

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the turkey patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Build the Burger

On each burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, then a turkey patty. Top with sautéed mushrooms, a slice of cheddar jack cheese, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Finally, add a slice of tomato, and top with the other half of the bun.
