Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, around 5-7 minutes.

Add Cheese and Seasoning
Reduce the heat to low and stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon of paprika. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy.
Combine and Serve

Combine Pasta and Cheese Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

Optional Topping
If desired, mix 0.5 cup of breadcrumbs with 0.25 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture over the macaroni and cheese in an oven-safe dish.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crispy.
