Method
Preparation
- 1
Gather Ingredients
Collect all the fresh oranges, sugar (if using), and ice (if desired).
- 2
Wash Oranges
Rinse the oranges under cool running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.
- 3
Cut Oranges
Using a sharp knife, cut each orange in half crosswise to expose the juicy segments.
Juicing
- 4
Juice the Oranges
Use a citrus juicer or reamer to extract the juice from each half of the orange. Make sure to press firmly to get as much juice as possible.
- 5
Strain the Juice (Optional)
If you prefer pulp-free juice, pour the freshly squeezed juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any pulp or seeds.
- 6
Sweeten the Juice (Optional)
If you like your juice sweeter, stir in the sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
Serving
- 7
Serve
Pour the fresh orange juice into glasses. If desired, add ice to the glasses before pouring the juice for a refreshing chilled drink.
