Fish Fillet

Sandwich Assembly

Method

Fish Fillet Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  2. 2

    Breading Setup

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with a beaten egg mixed with milk, and one with cornmeal.

  3. 3

    Coat the Fish

Dip each fillet first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal on both sides.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Fish

Carefully place the breaded fish fillets into the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Tartar Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Slice the brioche buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a generous amount of tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and one piece of fried fish on top. Add more tartar sauce on the fish if desired, then place the top half of the bun on.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the fish sandwiches immediately with extra tartar sauce on the side.
