Method
Chicken Nuggets
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well to ensure all pieces are evenly coated.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each piece of seasoned chicken into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is fully covered.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
- 5
Fry the Nuggets
Carefully add the breaded chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Fries
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into even-sized sticks (about 1/4 inch thick).
- 7
Soak the Potatoes
Soak the potato sticks in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which will help them become crispier.
- 8
Heat Oil for Frying
In a deep fryer or large heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Fry the Potatoes
Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add the potato sticks to the hot oil in batches and fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 10
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste and toss to coat evenly.
