Preparing the Salad Base
- 1
Wash and Prepare Lettuce
Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Chop Lettuce
Chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
Making the Dressing
- 3
Prepare the Dressing
In a blender or food processor, combine the olive oil, garlic cloves (peeled), anchovy fillets, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth and well combined.
- 4
Taste and Adjust
Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning if necessary by adding more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to suit your preference.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Combine Ingredients
Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the chopped romaine lettuce in the salad bowl. Toss well to ensure the lettuce is evenly coated with the dressing.
- 6
Add Toppings
Sprinkle croutons and additional grated Parmesan cheese on top of the salad. Toss gently again to incorporate the croutons.
