Cooking the Bacon
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until they are crispy, turning occasionally. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Bacon
Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess fat.
Preparing the Vegetables
- 3
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves thoroughly. Tear them into smaller pieces if necessary.
- 4
Slice the Tomato
Wash the tomato and slice it into thick rounds.
Toasting the Bread
- 5
Toast the Texas Bread
In the same skillet or a toaster, toast the Texas toast until golden brown on both sides. This should take about 2-3 minutes per side.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Spread Mayonnaise
On one side of each slice of toasted Texas toast, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise.
- 7
Layer Ingredients
On two slices of the toasted bread (mayonnaise side up), layer the crispy bacon, followed by the lettuce, and then the tomato slices. Season the tomato with salt and pepper to taste.
- 8
Complete the Sandwich
Top the sandwiches with the remaining slices of Texas toast, mayonnaise side down. Cut each sandwich in half and serve.
