Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Black Angus beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Toast the Buns

Optionally, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Preparing French Fries

  1. 6

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into fry shapes.

  2. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt while hot.

Making Complimentary Soup

  1. 8

    Prepare the Soup Base

In a pot, combine chicken broth, diced carrots, celery, and onion. Bring to a boil.

  2. 9

    Season the Soup

Reduce heat and let simmer for about 15 minutes until vegetables are tender. Season with salt, pepper, and stir in chopped parsley before serving.
