Preparation Instructions

1

Make the Caramel

In a saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and cook until it melts and turns a golden brown color. Quickly pour the caramel into a round baking dish, tilting the dish to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

2

Blend the Flan Mixture

In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and well combined.

3

Combine and Bake

Pour the flan mixture over the hardened caramel in the baking dish. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the larger pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set.

4

Cool and Serve

Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert onto a serving plate, and allow the caramel to drizzle over the top.
