Macaroni and Cheese Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. Add salt, black pepper, and paprika, mixing well.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is well coated.

  5. 5

    Optional Breadcrumb Topping

If desired, transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes until the top is golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your homemade mac & cheese!
