Chocolate Fondant Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the oven and ramekins

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and grease four ramekins with butter, then dust with flour.

  2. 2

    Melt chocolate and butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix sugar and eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Combine mixtures

Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

    Add flour

Sift the all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture and fold gently until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and serve immediately, allowing the gooey center to flow out.
