Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Alfredo Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, bringing it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Remove from heat.

Making Tomato Sauce

  1. 3

    Prepare the Tomato Sauce

In a separate saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combining and Serving

  1. 4

    Combine and Serve

Toss the cooked spaghetti with either the Alfredo or Tomato sauce. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh basil if desired.
