Method

Cooking Steel-Cut Oats

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oats

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in the steel-cut oats and salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are tender and creamy.

Roasting Apples

  1. 2

    Roast the Apples

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Core and slice the apples, then toss them with brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter. Spread them on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and caramelized.

Making Vanilla Cream

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vanilla Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar, then continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 4

    Combine and Serve

Spoon the cooked steel-cut oats into bowls. Top with roasted apples, currants, and pistachios. Finish with a dollop of vanilla cream on top.
