Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty approximately ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

In the same skillet or on a grill, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to allow the cheese to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, place the burger patty with melted cheese on top, add crispy bacon, onion rings, and drizzle BBQ sauce over everything. Top with the other half of the bun.
