Tequila-Lime Cream Sauce

Method

Preparing the Chicken and Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Making the Sauce and Vegetables

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the chicken, add sliced bell peppers, red onion, jalapeño, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes until softened.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Tequila-Lime Cream Sauce

In a bowl, combine heavy cream, tequila, lime juice, and lime zest. Mix well and pour over the sautéed vegetables. Stir to combine and let simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combining and Serving

  1. 5

    Combine Everything

Add the cooked pasta and sliced chicken into the skillet with the sauce and vegetables. Toss everything together until well coated. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

  2. 6

    Prepare Garlic Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic powder, and chopped parsley. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise, spread the garlic butter mixture on both halves, and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the tequila-lime chicken pasta warm, alongside slices of garlic bread.
