Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them.

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks and add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet.

  6. 6

    Baste the Steak

Using a spoon, baste the steaks with the melted butter and juices in the skillet for an additional 4-5 minutes or until desired doneness is reached.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 8

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 9

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 10

    Drain the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.

  4. 11

    Mash the Potatoes

Add the butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or ricer to mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 12

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the ribeye steak.
