Method
Preparation
Chill the Glass
Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. Fill it with ice water and set aside while you prepare the cocktail.
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of mezcal, 1 oz of dry vermouth, 1 oz of grapefruit liqueur, and 1 oz of orange aperitif wine.
Add Bitters
Add 2 dashes of orange bitters to the mixing glass.
Stir
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Strain
Empty the ice water from the chilled cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer.
Garnish
Garnish the cocktail with a twist of grapefruit peel over the drink, then drop it in.
