Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a handful of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Once the patties are cooked and cheese is melted, place each patty on top of the tomato.

  3. 8

    Finish the Burger

Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then place the top half of the bun on each burger.
