Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lettuce

Wash the iceberg lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Drain and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel. Chop into small pieces and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Wash the cherry tomatoes under cold water. Cut each tomato in half and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Dice the avocado into small cubes and set aside.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Prawn Cocktail

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, gently toss the cooked prawns with the prepared cocktail sauce until they are well coated.

  2. 6

    Layer the Dish

In serving glasses or bowls, start by layering the chopped lettuce at the bottom. Follow with a layer of the prawns coated in cocktail sauce.

  3. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Avocado

Top the prawn layer with halved cherry tomatoes and diced avocado for added color and flavor.

  4. 8

    Final Touch

Drizzle a little extra cocktail sauce on top if desired and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika for an elegant presentation.
