Cheese Preparation
Frying and Garnishing
Method
Cheese Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Goat Cheese
Cut the goat cheese into small rounds or rectangles, about 1 inch thick. This will make them easier to fry.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese
Coat each piece of goat cheese first in the flour, then dip it in the beaten egg, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is well-covered.
Frying and Garnishing
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; it should sizzle immediately.
- 5
Fry the Cheese
Carefully add the breaded goat cheese pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Prepare the Garnish
In a small saucepan, gently heat the honey until it is warm but not boiling. Mix in the sliced or chopped almonds and stir until combined.
- 7
Serve the Dish
Drizzle the warm honey and almond mixture over the fried goat cheese. Optionally, sprinkle fresh thyme on top for added flavor and presentation.
