Method

Poached Pears

  1. 1

    Prepare the Poaching Liquid

In a large pot, combine water, sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Poach the Pears

Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact. Place them in the pot with the poaching liquid. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes until pears are tender.

  3. 3

    Cool the Pears

Remove the pears from the pot and let them cool in the poaching liquid for additional flavor.

Chocolate Fondue

  1. 4

    Melt the Chocolate

In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and add dark chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.

  2. 5

    Add Flavor

Stir in vanilla extract and mix well. Keep warm over low heat or in a fondue pot.

Port-Soaked Dried Cherries

  1. 6

    Soak the Cherries

In a small bowl, combine dried cherries and port wine. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes until plump.

Labneh

  1. 7

    Prepare the Labneh

In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt and salt. Place in a cheesecloth and let it drain in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight for a thicker consistency.
