Chocolate Dipping Sauce

Method

Churros

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Mix in Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms. Let it cool for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  6. 6

    Fry Churros

Fry churros in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Coat with Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll the hot churros in the mixture until well coated.

Chocolate Dipping Sauce

  1. 8

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 9

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.

  3. 10

    Add Vanilla

Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor. Serve warm.
