Churro Dough

Frying and Coating

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for a few minutes.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.

Frying the Churros

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe and Fry

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe about 4-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  3. 6

    Drain and Coat

Remove churros from oil and drain on paper towels. In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon, then roll the hot churros in the mixture until coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat the heavy cream until just simmering.

  2. 8

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
