Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Balsamic Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until it thickens to a syrupy consistency. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Topping

Dice the tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the mixture. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix everything gently until well combined. Set aside.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Grill the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are crisp and have grill marks.

  2. 4

    Top the Bread

Once the bread is grilled, remove it from the grill and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice of grilled bread.

  3. 5

    Drizzle with Balsamic Reduction

Drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the topped bruschetta for added flavor.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
