Preparation

Slice the Bread

Using a serrated knife, slice the crusty bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating a top and bottom portion for your sandwich.

Prepare the Vegetables (Optional)

If using, wash the tomato and arugula or spinach. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.

Assembly

Add Olive Oil

Drizzle the inside of both halves of the bread with extra virgin olive oil, spreading it evenly with a brush or spoon.

Layer the Ham

Place the slices of Spanish jamón evenly over the bottom half of the bread, covering it generously.

Add Vegetables (Optional)

If using, layer the sliced tomato and a handful of arugula or spinach over the jamón.

Season

Sprinkle freshly cracked black pepper over the top of the fillings to taste.

Close the Sandwich

Carefully place the top half of the bread over the fillings, pressing down gently to secure the sandwich.

Slice and Serve
