Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes. This will help the flavors meld and make it easier to form the cakes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Form the Crabcakes

After chilling, use your hands to form the crab mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should get around 10-12 mini crabcakes.

  2. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  3. 5

    Cook the Crabcakes

Carefully place the formed crabcakes in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, transfer the crabcakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
