Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped green onions, egg, bread crumbs, and season with salt and black pepper. Gently mix until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

Forming and Cooking

2

Form the Crab Cakes

With your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick. You should be able to make approximately 6-8 crab cakes depending on the size.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until shimmering.

4

Cook the Crab Cakes

Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the skillet; cook in batches if necessary.

5

Drain and Serve

Once cooked, transfer the crab cakes to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
