Method
Mac and Cheese Preparation
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add macaroni pasta and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Make the Cheese Sauce
In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Add in salt, black pepper, garlic powder, mustard powder, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese is fully melted.
- 3
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
Forming and Frying the Balls

- 5
Form the Balls
Once the macaroni and cheese mixture is chilled, use a spoon or your hands to form small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 6
Coat the Balls
Dip each mac and cheese ball in the beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
- 7
Fry the Balls
In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the balls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Dipping Sauce Preparation
- 8
Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine ketchup and hot sauce. Stir until well combined.
