Method

Preparing the Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the jumbo lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, chopped parsley, chopped green onions, egg, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Add Breadcrumbs

Gradually fold in the breadcrumbs until the mixture is well combined and holds together. The mixture should be moist but not overly wet.

  3. 3

    Shape the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, shape the crab mixture into large patties, about 4 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Chill the Cakes

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

Cooking the Crab Cakes

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Bake the Crab Cakes

Brush the tops of the crab cakes with melted butter, then bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Crab Cakes

Arrange the baked crab cakes on a large serving platter.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley. Serve with tartar sauce on the side.
