Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the jumbo lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix with your hands or a spatula until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Shape the Cakes

Once the mixture is well combined, use your hands to form the mixture into patties, about 3 to 4 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place the shaped crab cakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Chill

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Plating the Platter

  1. 5

    Arrange the Garnishes

On a large serving platter, arrange the cooked crab cakes evenly. Garnish with lemon wedges, fresh dill sprigs, and serve with a side of cocktail sauce for dipping.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve the jumbo crab cake platter immediately while hot, accompanied by additional lemon wedges if desired.
