For the Chinese BBQ Spareribs
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, five-spice powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 2
Marinate the Ribs
Add the pork spareribs to the marinade, coating them thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- 4
Bake the Ribs
Place the marinated ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover with another piece of foil and bake for 2.5 hours.
- 5
Prepare the Sauce
While the ribs are baking, pour the remaining marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
- 6
- 7
Broil the Ribs
Increase the oven temperature to broil. Broil the ribs for 5-10 minutes until caramelized, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve with steamed broccoli and rice.
